06/10/2002 There will be a car show on Saturday, June 15, 2002 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Village Dodge in Painesville sponsored by Advance Auto Parts. Karts are welcome to be displayed. Show off your kart and help promote our sport!

05/30/2002 This is a reminder that we will NOT have a practice session on Saturday, June 1. We are closed due to the Gasser Reunion being held at the Dragstrip all weekend. The next practice sessions will be Wednesday, June 5 and Saturday, June 8. The next race is Sunday, June 9.

05/30/2002 We have added a Super-Schedule to the Ohio Sprint links page listing the advertised schedules for all tracks and series in Ohio.

05/24/2002 We will be participating in two parades on Monday, Memorial Day in Willoughby and Mentor on the Lake. We need drivers and karts in full racing gear and people to walk along and pass out flyers. If you would like to participate, contact Doug Marsh at 440-953-3899 for either parade.

05/21/2002 The results from Sunday's race on May 19 have been posted. Season points have also been updated and are posted. We would like to thank Javorek Architectual Metals, Cook Racing Engines, JW's Eurotech Racing and Francis Engineering for donating the cash prizes paid to the top three positions in DSTP Motorsports Stock Piston Port and Cometic Gasket Briggs Medium.

05/19/2002 Sunday May 19, 2002 was a dry, sunny day, but quite cool for the thirty karters who raced at Thompson Kart Raceway. The races today were for double points and sponsor provided cash prizes were awarded to the top three finishers in Cometic Gasket Briggs Medium and DSTP Motorsports Stock Piston Port. A special welcome and thanks goes out to the karters who blasted up from Columbiana after being flooded out there, and we feel the same about the other new faces at our track. We hope to see everyone again real soon for more excellent racing.

05/14/2002 This is a reminder that Sunday's race on May 19 is a double points race and that there will be cash prizes, (sponsor provided), paid to the top three positions in DSTP Motorsports Stock Piston Port and Cometic Gasket Briggs Medium. Practice will be available Wednesday night starting at 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM.

05/14/2002 Two new sections have been added to this website. The first is a page to show all of the racer's personal sponsors. To include yours, send an email to the webmaster at webmaster@ckra.org. The second new section is the Promotions listing of upcoming and past promotions attended by CKRA members to support their club. Again, if you have something that you think should be listed, send an email to the webmaster at webmaster@ckra.org.

05/09/2002 The May 5 race results are in today's (05/09/02) News Herald in the Sports Section Community Scoreboard on page C7 in the lower right hand corner. Pick up a paper if you want to see your name in the paper! A special thanks goes out to Vickie Kuhn for providing the information to the paper. Club members helping other club members.

05/06/2002 The race results for our belated opening day are now posted. Season points are also posted but with only one race completed, they are identical to the race results. If you weren't there, you missed a great bright sunny warm day of good racing. A big thank-you goes out to all of the track volunteers for running a good show that went off on schedule with only a few minor snags and a big thank-you goes out to all of the racers who showed up and quickly learned how we wanted to run the show. If you weren't there, you should have been. Next race is 19 May 2002, BE THERE!!

04/25/2002 The 2002 CKRA Fee listing is now available on this website.

04/21/2002 Opening day was a snow out. It was too cold to rain, though when the little chunks of ice did hit the ground or the track, they melted resulting in a wet track. The weather conditions were such that the track was not likely to dry in time to complete the day's racing. This was unfortunate for the hardy, dedicated racers who braved the cold, windy, wet weather. A few picutes are available here.

04/11/2002 Just a reminder that Saturday will be the first practice day available at Thompson Kart Raceway this season. Practice from 1:00-7:00 PM each Saturday for only $6 gate fee per person and $4 pit pass for anyone entering the hot pits. Lots of time and an open track. Post your questions on the message forum for a quick answer. Don't forget that opening day is Sunday, April 21. There will be practices on Saturday, April 13, Wednesday April 17 and on Saturday, April 20 so that you can tune up your kart and your driving skills for opening day. We hope to see you there.
