04/11/2002 These pictures are from the 2002 Chardon Maple Festival Parade. We had the karts of Dave Paternitti, Christian Marsh, Keith Paternitti, and Russ Hamilton driving Doug Marsh's kart since Doug was behind the wheel of our parade tow vehical, a brand new Saturn Vue on loan from Saturn of Mentor. Our banner graced the front of the Vue and we were fortunate to have several lovely volunteers passing out over 700 flyers to parade goers. We also were lucky to have an informed announcer at the viewing stand provide the crowd with valid information and descriptions of karting.
04/05/2002 The Saturday Practice for 04/06/02, this Saturday, has been cancelled due to unforseen complications. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Post any questions on the message forum for a quick answer.
04/04/2002 The Maple Festival is coming to Chardon this weekend and we will be in the parade on Sunday. Anyone interested in having their kart in the parade needs to be there by 1:30 PM for the 3:00 start of the parade. You can expect to be there until around 5:00. Any help would also be appreciated. Post any questions on the message forum for a quick answer.

04/02/2002 Just a reminder that Saturday will be the first practice day available at Thompson Kart Raceway this season. Practice from 1:00-7:00 PM each Saturday for only $6 gate fee per person and $4 pit pass for anyone entering the hot pits. Lots of time and an open track. Post your questions on the message forum for a quick answer.

03/29/2002 The message and classifieds forums are back online. Your webmaster would like to blame the full moon, but I did something bad somewhere. I apologize for any inconvenience. No data was lost.

03/27/2002 The forums should be back online later today. We apologize for any inconvenience. No data was lost. The contact us page is now functional also.

03/24/2002 We are proud to annouce the addition of message and classified forums to CKRA.org. Everyone can read the posts that are there without registering, but you will need to register in order to post a message or classified ad. This is a free service provided by CKRA and we hope everyone will take advantage of it. Please be sure to read the forums policy page on your way to registering. Your username must be your real name, for example John Smith, and you must provide a valid email address. One of our goals is for these forums to be a family environment, just like at the track. Complete details are provided in the forum guidelines page. We feel these requirements are necessary to maintain a family friendly environment. Email us with any questions or comments that you have about the forums to forum@ckra.org

03/19/2002 The Introduction to Karting seminar at the Great Outdoors Trailer company on March 17 was a success. Seventy-two people, many of whom had already purchased karts, attended the seminar to learn what karting is all about. Here are two pages of pictures from the seminar. The information presented at the seminar will be included shortly in the Newkarter section of this website. Email us with any questions or comments that you have about the seminar to ckra@ckra.org.

03/11/2002 Our booth at the new car was very successful. A common question was "Where can I buy a kart?" Most of the people who will be attending our seminar, see item below, will be looking for a kart. Those of you with used karts and stuff for sale can either bring it to the seminar or can email us a list of what you have for sale at ckra@ckra.org.

03/07/2002 Check out a few pictures of our booth at the new car show at the IX center. The booth is from the hard work of our club president Doug Marsh and his extremely tolerant wife Bonnie. The karts on display are from John Burton, Ray Longhitano, Ben Beasley, Doug Marsh and Christian Marsh. Much thanks also goes out to the club members working the booth. Come on out and check us out!
02/25/2002 New to karting? CKRA will be offering an introduction to karting for all interested on Sunday March 17 starting at 12:30. The Great Outdoors Trailer Co. in Eastlake has graciously allowed us to use their sevice department for this seminar. For more info or to request topics call or email us. All are welcome. Directions
02/25/2002 The new car show is coming to town March 1-10 and CKRA will be there to promote karting and our club. But we need your help to man the booth which has been provided to us. Workers will receive free admission for the day(s) they work. Call or email for information or to sign up.
02/24/2002 The first general meeting for all club members and those interested in the club was held on Sunday, Feb 24 and was very successful. The club would like to thank everyone who attended. If you couldn't make it, or did but have more questions, call or email us with whatever is on your mind. We want this to be a club for the members and we need everyone's input.
