2004 Cleveland Automobile Dealer Association New Car Show at the IX Center
These pictures show our booth after we completed setting it up before the show opened to family night on Friday. The calm before the storm so to speak. Friday night is for the media, VIP's, and regular people who have been given free tickets from car dealers. Last year we were fortunate to have a large area to spread out into, but this year found the show more crowded than before so space is a little tighter. But they are still providing us booth space free of charge so we really can't complain. Our goals for this show remain the same as past shows, to promote our club, track and karting to the general public. To let people know CKRA and karting exists, and to get new people into our sport. The raffle kart was on display so that we could continue to sell tickets as a fund raiser for our club. In case you haven't heard, we, (CKRA), are raffling off a complete totally new Slack chassis with a Briggs Animal motor. Additonal information on the raffle can be found here. We've added ten more pictures to the back wall of our booth that we selected from the many great pictures our unofficial track photographer snapped last season. Click here if you would like to contact Ron King to purchase prints from last season or the banquet.

Many of your club members are donating some of their time to work the booth, and we should all be thankful for their efforts. It helps us all. I'll try to take pictures of as many of them as I can, but your webmaster won't be there every day, so to those I miss, please accept my apologies.

These pictures are from Saturday when the show was open to the public and show John Burton, Brian Naumann, Stephen Dickinson and Dave Dickinson from the first shift, and Ian English, Jen Rohaley and Mike Rohaley from the second shift. And lots of people checking out karting, many for the first time. The blurriness is because I forgot my tripod among other things.

These pictures are from Monday. Sunday your webmaster stayed home, but Curt Ellis, Rex the Wrench, Brian Naumann, Ian English and Doug Marsh worked the booth on Sunday. Monday's first shift during the day was staffed by Juan and Joshua Rivera, and Mike Hawkins. We definitely gained exposure and ticket sales by having our booth staffed during all of the show hours. The second shift was Ron Scott, John Burton and Chuck Bunnell. The blurriness this time is from people moving during the long shutter exposure with the flash off. The flash isn't strong enough to do the job.

These pictures are from Wednesday, Tuesday was picture free even though Tim Couch walked right by our booth without buying a raffle ticket. Fortunately Dave Paterniti, Ron and David Scott, John Burton and Chuck Bunnell were on hand to work the booth. It really is great fun to be able to talk karting all night long to people who haven't already heard your stories a hundred times. Wednesday's first shift during the day was staffed by Brian Austin, and Mike Hawkins. The second shift was Ian and Ryan English, Ron Scott, and Chuck Bunnell.

Now it's Thursday and while ticket sales are slower than last year, we're still doing well. And we are spreading the word about karting which is a very good thing. Thursday's first shift during the day was staffed by Doug Roderick, and Mike Hawkins. The second shift was Dave Paterniti, John Burton, and Chuck Bunnell.
