The EASTLAKE GRAND PRIX is approaching fast. Most of the initial work is complete and we are just tying up a few loose ends. This race will be a charity race that will benefit our charity partner with 100% of the profits. Our charity is The Rainbows Babies and Children’s Hospital/Circle of Friends.

The race will be held on a temporary coarse that will be designed with safety being the first goal. It will include a lot of paved run-off room. The track will be set up in the parking lot opposite The Lake County Captains Stadium in Eastlake Ohio on Rt. 91. The lot is approximately 300 feet by 670 feet. The main strait will be approximately 450 feet long. It will have high speed corners with challenging braking zones. It will include a challenging section of winding switch-backs as well. The track will be approximately 30 feet wide so it should make for some great wheel to wheel racing. We will be using soft Hoosier race car tires that are all bolted together for safety barriers. These have proven to do the best job of providing great energy absorption. The other benefit is that we will be able to use them year after year.

This will be a great opportunity to help a wonderful charity. We are also very excited about the chance to bring kart racing to a large crowd of racing enthusiasts. The spectators will enjoy the opportunity to see what is the most exciting wheel to wheel sport in the world. And it will be in the heart of Lake County with great access. We will also welcome “The Chevy Street Team” as they will be making an appearance at the event as well.
