| We have a lot of things going on already and a lot of excitement is surrounding Thompson Kart Raceway and CKRA.
First up, our karting seminar is Sunday March 26th. We will be holding it at Cometic Gasket. Their address is 8090 Auburn Road
Concord, OH 44077. The seminar will start at 1pm. We will be going over everything from safety gear to what happens on a race day. We hope you can attend.
Regulations have been updated on the website. It is under the Race Info tab on the home page. Just a reminder that we are in the final year of our transitioning to the Briggs LO206 class. This is the last year for our "Legacy Program" for our 4 cycle program. You are required to have the correct exhaust this year. Everyone is expected to know and understand the rules. What is on our website are supplemental rules and regulations to the WKA rules.
A couple of quick notes... We deleted some rules and added some. Some of what we have changed is to help make sure everyone has a great experience coming to Thompson. We also want to help make sure we are preparing our drivers for higher levels of competition. We are confident it will be well received.
Work 2 Practice days...we will be opening the track by 9:30am on Work 2 Practice days. We will be working on projects and chores until about 1:30pm. Those who are there helping are invited to stay for practice. If you work, and do not bring your kart you will get a practice pass for another date. This is still a volunteer based club and we need everyone's help to make this a success. Some things we will be working on are...
1.Canopy over the facilities as well as adding a new hand wash station.
2.Increasing the size of the pit parking and adding stone.
3.New drainage in pits.
4.Expanded concession stand.
5.Internet service is coming to the track to broadcast live timing and scoring.
6.Windows in the tower.
7.General ground cleaning and maintenance to include some painting.
8.Cutting up fallen tree and some tree removal.
9.Improved PA system coverage.
We have a lot to do and we all look forward to seeing you soon.
